The Microsoft Office 365 suite is available for free to all currently enrolled SRJC students who have an active BearCubs email account. With Office 365, students can use Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or any web browser to create documents on PC or Mac on campus, review it on your tablet, and then finish up on your home computer. All this is possible because you can save your files to the cloud on OneDrive and get to them from anywhere.

Accessing Office 365

SRJC offers three ways for currently enrolled students to access Microsoft Office applications:

Option 1: Free web-based version

Access Microsoft Office applications anywhere through your web browser at no cost using your BearCubs email account.

What's included:

• Web-based versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office applications
• OneDrive cloud storage to access files from anywhere
• Works on any device with a web browser (PC, Mac, tablet, mobile)

Requirements:

• Active BearCubs email account
• Access through web browser only (no desktop applications)

How to sign up:

1. Visit the Office 365 Education page
2. Click the “Get Started” button in the top banner
3. Enter your BearCubs email address (@bearcubs.santarosa.edu)
4. Open a new browser tab and log into your BearCubs Gmail account
5. Check the 'Updates' tab for your signup verification code
6. Return to the Office 365 tab and complete account setup using the verification code

Option 2: On-campus desktop application access

Use full desktop versions of Microsoft Office applications on campus computers at no cost.

What's included:

• Full desktop applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerPoint, etc.)
• All advanced features and functionality
• Save files to OneDrive, USB drives, or email to yourself
• No installation or setup required

Requirements:

• Valid SRJC student ID
• Use campus computers only

Where to access:

• Library computers in Doyle and Mahoney - Available during library hours. Check the libraries website for more information.
• Computer labs - Check lab schedules and availability
• Loaner laptops - Available for checkout from the Tech Gear Desk at the libraries

Option 3: Download desktop applications to your own computer - Student discount version - $4.99/month

Get full Microsoft 365 Personal with desktop applications plus web access using your personal email address.

What's included:

• Desktop applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) for Windows or Mac
• Web-based versions of all applications
• 1TB OneDrive cloud storage

Requirements:

• Personal email address to be used as your Microsoft account
• Active BearCubs email address required for verification purposes only
• $4.99/month subscription fee

How to sign up:

1. Visit Microsoft 365 College Student Pricing
2. Click "Start your free trial"
3. If you already have a personal Microsoft account, enter your personal email address and click “Next”. If not, click “Create an account” and enter your personal email address
4. Verify your student status when prompted (using your @bearcubs.santarosa.edu email address)
5. Complete payment setup for $4.99/month subscription
6. Download and install applications on your devices
