Updating Your Zoom Client

Overview

Zoom provides updated versions of their Zoom desktop client to provide new features and fix bugs. The IT department recommends upgrading to the latest version of the software when available.

 


Check Which Version You Are Running

If you have the Zoom desktop installed, you can check for updates by doing the following:

  1. Sign in to Zoom desktop client.
  2. Click your profile picture, hover over Help, click About Zoom.

Updating the client

If you have the Zoom desktop installed, you can check for updates by doing the following:

  1. Sign in to Zoom desktop client.
  2. Click your profile picture, then click Check for Updates.

If there is a newer version, Zoom will automatically download and install it.

 


Auto Update Disabled Error

Auto Update Disabled. Automatic update is disabled for Zoom. Ask your IT administrator for help.

If you have encountered this error, please attempt the following:

 

     1.    Uninstall Zoom.
     2.    Go to Zoom Downloads to download and save the latest version of the Zoom Client for Meetings.
     3.    Open the ZoomInstaller.exe to re-install Zoom.
