New Password Not Recognized on Remote Workstation?

When you reset your password for your SRJC credential while working remotely, your computer may not properly synchronize with our campus network to update the registered old password with the new. This causes the new password to fail on your computer, and you must input the old for logging in or approving administrative requests.

To update your new password with your physical computer - login with your previous password and perform the following:

Windows
  1. Make sure you are connected to GlobalProtect VPN.
  2. On your keyboard press Ctrl+Alt+Delete and select Lock.

  1. Wait a few minutes, then log back into your computer with the new password.
    1. Your computer should now be synchronized with your most recent login information.
  2. If this does not properly update your password to the computer, please Submit a Support Request with the IT Help Desk.

Mac OS
  1. Make sure you are connected to GlobalProtect VPN.
  2. Lock your Mac through pressing Control+Command+Q on your keyboard, or click the Apple menu icon at the top left of the screen and select Lock Screen.

    2. If prompted to update your keychain when you log back in, please do so with your new username and password.
      1. Note: The IT Help Desk is unable to recover lost or forgotten keychain passwords. Please visit Apple Support's Managing Keychain Webpage for further information.
